Kiss It Goodbye
I have always been struck by how one can take the most mundane and ubiquitous of objects, and by simply casting that form into anther unexpected material, convey to it a great depth and resonance. Two of the three projects in this series, were cast into aluminum at the Steel Yard foundry. I became attracted to the idea of working with aluminum, first because it is a material more closely associated with industrial processes than Sculpture, but in addition it is beautiful, strong, light weight, and relatively inexpensive.
I view the projects in this series as the humble beginnings of much larger ideas, of much bigger projects. I have already begun to take some of these Ideas to the next level.
